Medical Societal Education

The Spinal Research Foundation is building an education program that will promote spinal health awareness to the general public and to improve the public’s knowledge of quality spinal health care.

  • The education program titled “We’ve Got Your Back 2008” encompasses several venues in the public domain.
  • The program includes a Spinal Health Awareness Health Fair, a 4 Mile Race and 2 Mile Fun Walk.
  • The staff is creating video vignettes to be utilized at the health fair SRF Exhibit, as well as in a variety of classroom settings in the year to come.
  • Informative articles will be placed in numerous print media as well as electronic magazines.
  • Follow through includes consistent periodical newsletters sent to patients and their families, to students and other participants of the health fair and a speakers bureau of trained speakers to present lectures at the many social/business organizations in the

Community Health Information Source

The Spinal Research Foundation has continued to serve as an educational resource for the public. SRF continues to expand its involvement in community education efforts.

  • SRF researchers continue to facilitate increased communication between patients, community members, researchers and physicians regarding spine health.
  • SRF sponsors a series of lectures offered in the community. These lectures inform attendees about important aspects of spinal health and spinal care, specifically osteoporosis, advancement in spinal health care, scoliosis, new treatment options for neck and back pain, and spinal stenosis.
  • Attendance to the lectures is free and a webinar is posted on the web for individuals who are not able to attend. Attendance to the lectures has been high with lecture rooms filled to capacity. SRF sponsored lectures are held
